Coming SOON!
I will soon be offering nutrition counseling as well. The Master's of Science I am currently working on will allow me to have expertise in nutrition, genetics and nutrition as well as a deep dive on challenges we face today with food insecurity, food deserts and how to make the most of what we have. How we fuel ourselves will determine how we feel- now and in the future.
I am ( at least for now, maybe there will be more teachers in the future onboard :)) Blissful Balance Pilates and Wellness! I am a teacher and student of Pilates, specifically helping people with special conditions and working on a Masters in Science for Nutrition Studies. I myself have Hypermobile Ehlers Danos Syndrome( hEDS), Dysautonomia, Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) among other health challenges such as Migraines, Endometriosis, Osteopenia and chronic pain. I was not diagnosed with the correct diagnosis until I was 40 and now have a Service Dog in training to assist me, a Golden Retriever. I live in Western Maine with my husband, John, and three dogs- my Service Dog in training, Remington, another Golden Retriever named Finnick and an elderly Corgi named Kayli. Exercise has always been paramount to my feeling well but also posed a challenge since my body is easily stressed and has a hard time recovering. Finding the balance Pilates and Yoga CAN provide for me, when done correctly for my body, has been life changing. I have a background in teaching and non-profit work so helping others gain the balance they need is my WHY. My background and special skill set, partnered with my lived experience and formal training in both Classical and Contemporary Pilates, has allowed me to provide sustainable, balancing AND positive classes and private lessons for people who also are not always able- bodied. Pilates provides a wonderful base for anyone to improve their health and quality of life but can be daunting in a class with people nailing the different exercise with ease as you struggle or seem to be the only one in pain. To complement that, I will be adding nutrition counseling services to menu of options soon. This is YOUR place- my classes and lessons are built for YOUR needs to get where you want to go. I have the ability to help cancer survivors, pregnant and post natal bodies, fellow EDS Zebras, those with osteoporosis, joint replacements, spinal issues, chronic inflammation and other challenges find a way to make Pilates work for their condition. Getting started in the hardest part, but if we work together to provide a firm foundation for you to begin the process, you can take off from there. Do you want more balance, proprioception and less falling? Do you want to be able to do your favorite activity again? Or just live life with less pain and stiffness? Let’s have a chat and see if I can help. We only have one life here on Earth, your health is so important and I want you to live YOUR life how you strive to.
